CrowMM-03-CVRA-copy-768x1166Imagine that something so tragic happened to you that a crow took pity on you and brought you back to life to fix the wrongs and make things right in the universe. That is what The Crow did when he first resurrected Eric Draven, our original antihero and he has been doing it ever since and now we have a new Crow and his name is David Amadio. You see David is only 16 years old and he had his whole life ahead of him until he was the victim of a terrorist bombing that killed both he and his beloved girlfriend Sarah. Now, he is back to track down those responsible for the bombing in Italy and he’ll go wherever the road takes him in The Crow: Memento Mori. The third issue was written by Roberto Recchioni and Daniel De Filippis while it was illustrated by Werther Dell’Edera and Emanuele Ercolani. In the last issue, we learned more about his life and how it all lead up to the events of issue one. In the third installment, David is on a mission and he has figured out where the mastermind is, but he’ll have a whole army of protectors to deal with if he wants to get to him.

crow mm3As you can see the artwork for this one is a lot better than what I have seen from Crow books in the past. It definitely has a 30 Days Of Night feel to it and you can see why above. I’ve said in the previous article, that is an x factor for me as well, but the story is solid enough that it keeps me going. The action definitely picks up and things get a little more violent as you can see tot he left of the paragraph. That is kind of how it goes for the writing as well as business definitely picked up. I am not a fan of religious content, but it somehow works for this comic as David recites the story of the four horseman of the apocalypse as he is killing all these men. When you get to the end of this issue, I think you may end up being shocked to find out who the mastermind is or you may have picked up on it from the previous issues. If you did then congrats to you because I definitely didn’t see it coming. I am definitely going to pick up the next issue of the comic because I need to see what happens next. One dynamic that is missing is where are the police during all of this mayhem that is occurring? That is what the original had that helped the story move forward. Nonetheless, check it out for yourselves and check out my grades below:
