All-Star-Batman-Number-1-Neal-Adams-Exclusive-Comic-Variant-Color-2212466_1024x1024For today’s comic book, I wanted to go back into the world of DC and more preferably the world of Batman to explore a new issue I had picked up entitled All Star Batman #1 which was written by Scott Snyder and featured artwork from Declan Shalvey, Danny Miki, and John Romita Jr.. The comic takes place in a world that is apparently in the era of Harvey “Two Face” Dent as the big villain of the Universe in Gotham City. Batman has agreed to travel 500 miles to escort Dent out of Gotham, but Dent has some secrets that he wants to get off his chest that can apparently incriminate a lot of people. So, he sets up a challenge to all of Gotham’s villains or heroes and anyone else in the world that Batman may not be able to handle in this epic journey. All-Star-Batman-1-pageFirst thing is first with this comic book and that is that I am already hooked because it seems interesting even though it flies all over the place with the timeline. You’ll be in the present to all of a sudden being 20 minutes in the past to two days ago and back to the present all in the issue. I do like the story because it’s intriguing and they already give you a twist with issue number one that is purposely put in there to hook you like a fish. You have to love it when they do that, but that’s okay by me. The art work for the comic book is pretty decent and cool at times. It looks traditional, but the action shots in the panels are where it’s at for me. The panels are pretty easy to follow so you shouldn’t have that much trouble with it. I do love the idea of a world run by Two Face cause it’s different and it makes things interesting as far as character representation is concerned. I am certainly excited to read issue number two as soon as I have the chance, but so many issues to read. Check out my grading below:

Story/Plot: A+

Artwork: A-

Character Representation: A

Entertainment Value: A
