wwe_then_now_forever_b_intermix_1_stonecold_pressI have been a huge fan of the WWE for about 32 years and I say that because I can’t remember much from before I was three years old. The only constant in my life has been World Wrestling Entertainment and through the good times and bad times, they have entertained me well. When I heard that they were putting out a comic book through Boom! Studios, I had to get my hands on it and here it is the introductory issue that was presented to the SDCC crowd. The issue is divided into several different stories with the first one titled The Breaking of the Shield which is told through the eyes of Seth Rollins a week before he makes the fatal choice. The second story is called The New Day’s Optimistic Odyssey which follows the trio as they try to solve why everyone at their camp has now positivity in them. The third story was written and designed by portraiture Rob Schamberger and it follows Sasha Banks, and there’s one more plus some one page stories as well.

WWE_Then_Now_Forever_Preview-008-thumb-500x767-526289I am definitely a huge fan of the first story involving The Shield because it takes it from being a fictional storyline in the WWE and makes it like it’s everyday life. It takes what was a storyline and it gives it a real backstory that helps explain how he came to his decision. The New Day story seems like one that will be fun to read because I think it captures the goofiness of their power of positivity idea. The New Day is a fun tag team that deserve a fun backstory to go on. The next one makes a better art story than what it was about only because of Schamberger’s unique style. The fourth story was a very Sunday style funnies section styled story that took a character who was fun for kids and turned him into Popeye in this one. The artwork for The Shield story was very good while The New Day’s could be compared to that of Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur style. Overall, it’s a very entertaining comic book especially if you are a fan of the WWE and their product. If you can find the issue then I suggest picking it up or you can get it through their site here. Check out my grades below:
