FQ-Cv1-ds-cropped-7419eOne of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid was Jonny Quest that was produced the world famous Hanna Barbera who also produced Space Ghost and Birdman and The Galaxy Trio to name a few. What if I told you that there was a comic book out there that combined all of those awesome things into one and then some? If you guessed right by looking at the header, then you are smart because they did just that with Future Quest and I have the first issue for you guys right here. In this issue, strange things are appearing and disappearing off the Earth and it’s driving Dr. Quest mad. He sends out his son Jonny Quest, Hadji, Bandit (the dog), and Race Bannon out on a mission to see if they can discover anything over the everglades of Florida. What we discover is a sinister plot and some cool surprise guests in this cool thrill ride adventure that is Future Quest #1. If you want to read more information about the series or check out the first issue for yourself, then just click here to go to DC Comics webpage.

Future-Quest-1-8-600x923I am a huge fan of the television series like I said and I feel that the comic almost plays out like an episode of Jonny Quest, but this is a big crossover episode hence the title. I love the story of it because it plays out like an episode and it leaves you on a cliffhanger so that you’ll continue to read on. The artwork is very cool and true to the series which is what made me very happy about reading this. It feels and looks like the TV series so I have to give props to Rude and Shaner on that one. The panels are great and easy to follow along so you shouldn’t have any issues there and it’s just entertaining all around. I really feel like DC has come a long way with all of these issues like this one or even the Wacky Raceland one. The only thing is that this one is more true to the original than Wacky Raceland where we have been transported into an futuristic wasteland. I definitely think that if you are a fan of any of the characters then give this one a shot. Check out my grades below:

Story/Plot: A+

Artwork: A+

Character Representation: A+
