BRUCE-LEE-WALK-OF-THE-DRAGON-ONE-SHOT-360x600One of the coolest comic books that came out in the past couple of years was the Darby Pop Publishing Bruce Lee: The Dragon Rises comic. It was a comic book adventure that was spearheaded by Bruce Lee’s daughter Shannon Lee who runs the Bruce Lee Museum in Seattle. The idea behind the comic was that somehow Bruce Lee woke up from a coma of sorts as he was trapped for 40 years by a Russian witch. The only problem is that he doesn’t remember who he is or what he has accomplished in his life like being the creator of Jeet Kune Do. With the help of Mr. Toomes and some friends, they’ll battle some real evil forces  to try and see if they can help him regain his memory. This past Wednesday, they released a one shot called Bruce Lee: Walk Of The Dragon which sees everyone take a break from being super sleuths. The only problem is that they leave Bruce all by his lonesome and when he gets hungry he decides to navigate today’s Southern California all by himself which proves to be quite the adventure. Bruce-Lee-The-Walk-of-the-Dragon-1-2-600x922I loved the comic book series that came out because it gave us that what if Bruce Lee had lived scenario in a way. Bruce is one of the most important figures not only in the Martial Arts world, but in the world of MMA and Martial Arts movies. It’s interesting to take that angle and run with the idea that he has no prior knowledge of what he has accomplished or what he means to people every where. In this issue, he is faced with an interesting scenario where he has to reenact a past film, but he doesn’t remember doing the film in the first place. This is a one shot comic so that means that the issue at hand is resolved or at least for now. This is just a side story to keep you entertained for the time being and I hope that they release more stories. I really enjoy the artwork in this comic series as they do a pretty tremendous job of capturing Bruce as a comic book character. There is a special Cobra Kai appearance in the comic that I caught right away and I’ll just give you that to search for. If you love Bruce Lee, comic books, and some Kung Fu fighting then pick up this comic. Otherwise, check out my grades below:
