hawkeyeI want you to believe me when I say this, but there are still comics that I am combing through from the previous week. One of my favorite new titles this year has been the Old Man Hawkeye series that Marvel has put out. Even though it’s a miniseries, the title has not disappointed yet and that is the reason that I chose Old Man Hawkeye #3 for today’s issue as the comic is still written by Ethan Sacks and Illustrated by Marco Checchetto. What we know so far is that Clint Barton is a man on a mission and while we know that he wants to avenge the Avengers (who have all passed), we don’t really know who he is looking for, but the answer may lie with Arcade’s Murderworld after seeing The Orb. Meanwhile, not only does Clint have Bullseye looking for him, but a symbiote similar to Venom is also looking for him too. In this issue, Clint ignores the warning of a blind woman and he enters Murderworld where he will confront an old teammate of his from his old Thunderbolt days. Meanwhile, Bullseye is still hot on the tail of Hawkeye and he is not giving up whatsoever.

ts24W2YcAs the old saying goes, “business is picking up” and that it does with issue number three of six I believe unless Marvel changes it’s mind. I think this is definitely one fo the best written titles that Marvel has going for them right now. It has all the action you could want and it has a great storyline as we get closer and closer to finding out what truly happened to the Avengers. The other thing that this comic has is that it’s artwork is gritty and well illustrated as we see all the action come to life. One of my favorite panels of the issue has to do with Bullseye as you can see to the left of this paragraph. I certainly didn’t realize how sadistic Bullseye could be and I didn’t realize who he was working for. Poor The Orb, he never saw that coming now did he and the the pun was certainly intended. There is a reason that I grade this one as an A++ comic and if you haven’t picked up a copy yet then you are certainly sitting on the outside looking in. Check it out, you will not regret it. Check out my grades below:

Grades:

Story/Plot: A+

Artwork: A+

Character Representation: A+
