train 8One of my favorite genres of film has always been horror films because everyone deserves one good scare. Horror has even transcended itself into other forms of entertainment with comic books being one of them and I am always looking for the right one to read and share with all of you. A friend of mine suggested that I read a comic book that is apparently turned into a film from Bliss On Tap Publishing. The comic book that I am talking about is Train 8: The Zombie Express that was written by Brian Phillipson (Hardcore Akan), Marysol Levant, and David Stephan while the comic was illustrated by Alex Cormack (WEED MAGIC #1). One of my biggest issues with society is that we are always trying to play God only to see it blow up in our faces. There is an organization that is creating a super virus to try and control the spread of pests, but what happens when that blows up. Well, a lot of passengers on the Train 8 from Seattle to Chicago are about to find out when a Doctor carrying the virus begins to bite passengers. The story follows two friends looking to spend Thanksgiving in Chicago, but what will they do now?

originalI have to say that this is one of those scenarios that is very possible at least in the comic book or even horror movie world. This is what happens when chaos is unknowingly unleashed onto the world all because we want to change a few details. I think that is what kept me going with every page besides the fact that the artwork kept me going as well. The artwork does a great job painting this grim situation that all these innocent people are in for reminding me of 28 Days Later as far as the look. If you love the zombie genre then this might be the comic for you to consider checking out. There are only three issues total in this miniseries, but the way they leave it for us, it’s one hell of a cliffhanger. The story is building up nicely and there is only one way this one should go and that is up. These people are trapped on a train that isn’t stopping so how will they survive? I guess we’ll have to read on to find out. Check out my grades below:

Story/Plot: A+

Artwork: A+

Character Representation: A+

Entertainment Value: A+
