I hope everyone had an amazing day yesterday as it was Free Comic Book Day because I know that I had a blast visiting all the different comic book shops. It truly is a day for all of us comic book nerds and I definitely hope that you visited your local comic book shop last Wednesday because there was some cool titles that came out including the one I read for today. The countdown to the release of Deadpool 2 is now down to 12 days which includes today and you know more than anything that Marvel is going to capitalize on that with new titles. What if I told you that today’s title was a very different title that made the experience of reading that said title a little more interactive? Well, that is exactly what Marvel did with today’s title entitled You Are Deadpool #1. I hope that you don’t mind writing in it because grab your dice and play along as you roll and choose every single one of Deadpool’s moves. You see Deadpool is going on an adventure and he needs your help, but don’t worry there is a tutorial to teach you the rules. The title was written by Al Ewing (The Fictional Man) and illustrated by Salvador Espin (Deadpool Kills Deadpool).
I have to tell you that if you are not willing to put in the work for this comic then I don’t think you should get cause you’re no fun to begin with. You also have to be willing to write in it or redeem the code if you don’t feel like writing in it and make sure you have a pair of dye (dice). I had a lot of fun playing this and I have to be honest in saying that I am going to follow my first results even though I could technically play again, but I want to see how this plays out. There are so many different scenarios and you are bouncing literally back and forth between the numbered panels. If you do it digitally like I do then there is an easy way to bounce back and forth and Deadpool shows you how. The artwork is great as it comes from a Deadpool veteran like Salvador Espin so I wouldn’t expect anything less than great. Like I said before, if you want to have some fun in this comic where the fourth wall is shattered completely, then pick this up, if not then don’t. Check out my grades below:
