I am back this week with TMNT Bebop and Rocksteady Hit The Road #4 which was once again written by Ben Bates and Dustin Weaver (who also illustrated the issue). In the previous issues, Bebop and Rocksteady are done traveling the world and they want to head back to New York to live their live again, but that is proving to be difficult to the bumbling duo. You see Bebop and Rocksteady somehow are finding ways to run into some problems on their trip back which includes the fact that they are slowly changing back into their human form and they just want for once to be considered the heroes, but they’ll have too convince the mysterious Agent Ravenwood that they are. After some stumbling around they run into Savanti Romero who they find out is behind their change, but if they want to change back they have to be willing to let bygones be bygones. The only thing they have to do is help him escape to a different dimension to help kill his boss and they ultimately fail at that. In this issue, Agent Ravenwood is under some scrutiny because they continue to evade her, but after discovering who they really are, she may have come up with a plan.
This is finally the issue that we somewhat discover who Agent Ravenwood is and why she is the way that she is. Spoiler Alert (You have been warned) and that is you have to had known that she was going to turn out to be a mutant. I definitely enjoyed the fact that they don’t tell you everything about her that there is still a little mystery behind her origin. I definitely enjoy the story because you are left wondering how much dumb luck can these guys have and when will it run out? I was happy that they revealed the Agent’s origin because it raises questions heading into the next issue. What kind of showdown are we going to get and will Bebop and Rocksteady actually reach New York. The last issue comes out tomorrow and you know I look forward to answering that question. While I do enjoy some aspects of the comic’s artwork, I still feel that there are times when I question Bebop and Rocksteady’s look. I don’t hate it, but I love their classic look. Check out the series for yourself and check out my grades below:
