infinityIt seems that every time a major film from Marvel is about to come out, the company runs a story line in their comic division. They did with Civil War when Captain America: Civil War was getting ready to be released and now they are doing it with Avengers: Infinity Wars with the Infinity Countdown event.  It may seem like the lazy approach to try and figure out new story arcs to tell, but at the same time why not. So what I have for you guys today is Infinity Countdown #1 which was written by Gerry Duggan (Deadpool) and it was illustrated by Aaron Kuder (Superman- Action Comics) and Mike Deodato (Star Wars: Vader Down). As we all know, the Infinity Stones are made up of six stones that are the soul, power, reality, mind, time, space stones and they are being guarded by six individuals (Captain Marvel, Ultron, Drax, Wolverine, Super-Skrull, and Turk Barrett). In one corner, we have Drax trying to fight off Taloner and Warbringer from getting their hands on the power stone while the rest of the Guardians fight off The Gardner who is creating evil Groots to fight them off. Can they survive or will these guys get their hands on the stones?

NjJFcIpoI honestly didn’t realize that there is an order in which these should be read until I got to the end of this issue. A couple of weeks ago they released Infinity Countdown: Adam Warlock and Infinity Countdown Prime so it might be wise to check those out before diving into this one. I’ll have to investigate that myself before continuing from here, but let’s get into this issue which is why we are here. The more fascinarting story of the two is with the Guardians of the Galaxy who are battling what I could perceive to myself as a stupid character in the Gardener, but he is more important in my opinion to Groot then I realized. There is a special surprise at the end of this issue, but I am still up in the air about it. If you like the recent Guardians of the Galaxy comics then you should like the artwork in this one. They are very similar in nature which looks good to me. I am actually excited about moving forward with this one because I want to see how it all plays out. I have a lot of catching up to do with this, but I am willing to put in the work. I think you should give it a shot too, check out my grades below:

IMG_7345I figured since we covered Deathstroke yesterday that we would check out our other favorite merc with the last name Wilson. If you haven’t figured that out yet, we are talking about the one and only Merc with a mouth Deadpool. In 2015, Marvel brought Deadpool back, but in a very different way than probably what most fans were expecting. Deadpool is now one of the most beloved superheroes especially more than Spider-Man which is a total victory for Wade Wilson. He is also very wealthy, but where in the world is Deadpool as we speak? Why are their so many different guys like Foolkiller, Madcap, Solo, etc. dressing like Deadpool? What in the world is this heroes for hire company and what does it have to do with The Avengers? All of these questions are sort of answered in issue number one, but you just have to read the issue for yourself if you want to know. To find out more information about the issue like reading it or just finding out information on Marvel, ou can do so by visiting this link here.

FullSizeRender (3)As far as the story is concerned, I truly believe that this is a great start for the series because it’s sort of keeping you on your toes. You’re sitting there trying to figure out who the real Deadpool is and the story has you hooked to want to find out what happens next. Plus, you get some surprise appearances from various Marvel characters and you get an appearance from George Stephanopoulos in the comic book as he is trying to interview Deadpool. One of my favorite sequences that best represents Madcap is this one scene where he is being interrogated by the police. You have to read it for yourself to find out what I mean. The artwork for the comic is phenomenal and while it’s traditional looking in a modern way, it’ll catch your eye. The panels are actually very easy to read and follow so you won’t have trouble reading it. Marvel has a gold mine with Deadpool that they will continue to expose with all the different series and miniseries that are out there. I am excited to read issue number two and you can be sure that I will share with all of you. For now check out my grades below:
