One of my favorite things about waking up on a Saturday morning was the fact that the X-Men cartoon series was on. The show would be affectionately known to fans as X-Men ’92 and it was awesome and it was what made me interested in comics in the first place. When I found out that Marvel Comics was taking my favorite cartoon show and was turning it into a comic book, I had to get it. So, here is what is going on in X-Men ’92 issue one: Professor Charles Xavier has decided to open the doors to the school so that new mutants out there could attend the school. He has also decided that he is going to be taking a backseat to everything and that he is allowing his X-Men to teach the classes now while he takes more of an advisory role. There’s just one problem on the first day of school and that is an unexpected guest makes his way to the school to warn them of danger that is coming their way. I am going to start off the article by talking about the artwork first because that is what attracted me to it in the first place. Flipping the pages of this comic book made me realize how much I loved the original cartoon especially the look of the characters like Wolverine and Jubilee. It feels like you are watching the cartoon and it’s definitely easy to read and follow along with the panels. Now as far as the story is concerned, it’s definitely one that packs a punch with the villains you see right from the start like the famous Omega Red, but you’ll find out about a more sinister villain that is coming there way. I loved the dynamics of the characters and how they were represented in the story which was very entertaining. You see a different side to some of them considering they are in the school and the comic features an interesting mutant you’ll get to know in Chamber.
